What will you say….what will you do?
I have been increasingly working in LATAM. Although I grew up in Houston and appreciate the Latin culture, my Spanish is mas o menos. That said, I have turned to technology to help me learn more and more. I have dabbled with more than a few now and haven’t settled on one yet. I dislike 'Duolingo' due to its gamification. I was beginning to enjoy Babbel, but its aggressive marketing is off-putting. Refer to the screenshot to see all the emails I've received since the beginning of April. I don’t opt out of the emails because it remind me of staying true to my word.
How can I trust a company that changes its mind and pricing frequently? Why would I ever believe them?
Maybe I'm taking these emails too seriously, but it all falls under 'branding'. Constant changes in decision-making, pricing, and plans can undermine a brand, which ultimately hinges on trust. Can I trust you tomorrow? Will your words today and yesterday still carry weight in the future? This unfortunately gets harder as the organization grows. The brand loses its touch, its core, as more and more people try to check a box on ‘doing their job’.
People and companies crave vendors who mean what they say and back their words with actions. So, what will you say, and what will you do?
